The T-cell receptor (TCR \u03b1\u03b2), composed of \u03b1 and \u03b2 chains, plays a key role in the adaptive immune response by recognising antigens presented by the MHC. While the TCR \u03b2 constant region can be derived from either the TCRB1 (C\u03b21) or TCRB2 (C\u03b22) genes, the JOVI.1 antibody specifically recognises the C\u03b21 region. Both antibodies are used in flow cytometry to differentiate T-cell subsets.
